Thunderbird Resort Thousand Trails in Monroe WA is a great place to stay except for a few drawbacks. There are not many full hook-up sites. It is crowded on weekends and it is hard to get sites in the main area. About 1/3 to 1/2 of the sites arent available due to non-functional electric or sewer issues. Many of the sites left in the main area are designated for permanent or annual use, so dont plan on having a sewer hookup here. The river sites are narrower, but they feel spacious and private if there are no campers next to you. There are lots of greens around the river sites. The pools are large and clean. The rangers are friendly and helpful. The laundry is out of order and there is no good option in the surrounding area. The road is noisy and there is a lot of dust. If you have a larger rig, it could be challenging to turn around to access the sewer. Thunderbird Resort has been trying to keep the grounds up and make improvements. However, the policy on reservation for Leisure Time members has changed and it is hard to make reservations for the summer season. Despite this issue, the staff is very friendly and welcoming.
