Coho Campground in Montesano, WA is a forested camping spot overlooking a large alpine lake. The campground is surrounded by old growth forest and you can spot various birds and squirrels within the ground. The campsites are spacious and have a paved drive that can fit several vehicles and trailers. Additionally, there are large picnic tables and a fire pit on each site along with an area for tents. While the campground does not offer electric, water or sewer on the site, there are several well-kept flush toilets. Bathrooms have an electrical outlet in case you need to charge anything, and there are faucets with drinking water. Unfortunately, there are no showers and no mobile phone connectivity, so the campground offers an ideal opportunity to disconnect from tech. However, theres plenty to explore in the area, including kayaking in the beautiful lake or exploring nearby trails. If youre looking for a spot for some good, car camping, Coho Campground is an excellent option, although the sites can be a bit too close together for some privacy. Although the campsite is elevated from the lake, its worth the steep climb to the lakeshore, and overall, you will likely enjoy your time at this campground.

From The Campground

The Wynoochee Lake Shore Trail #878 is a 16-mile loop trail that offers stunning views of small streams, waterfalls, Wynoochee River, Wynoochee Lake, old-growth and second-growth forests. The trail follows 6 miles along the lakeshore, extends another 2 miles upriver to a bridge over the Wynoochee River, then returns to the Coho campground in 8 miles on the opposite side of the river/lake. Note: There are no commercial services available at Wynoochee Lake or Coho Campground.
