Pioneer Park is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet. The campground is small with only 17 sites, but it is very woodsy and private. The sites are spacious and well spread out, providing plenty of shade and cover. There are vault bathrooms and cell phone signal is great for Verizon. The campground has access to the Pend Oreille River, which is fit for swimming and has a small beach nearby. There is also a waterfall, a grotto, and some caverns with a trail that takes you to Canada. Firewood is available for sale at the campground and there is a launch area just a 2 minute drive away. The town of Newport is only 5 minutes away with all the amenities you need. Unfortunately, most sites cannot handle large RVs or motorhomes, but smaller rigs (30 feet and down) would be perfect.
