What others are saying about this campground
The campground is situated directly across the street from the day use area with beach, kayak/canoe/SUP rentals, fishing dock, and snack shack (which sells bag ice). The beach is great for kids - warm (enough) water, sandy bottom, and gradual depth change. There are miles of hiking trails that lead to the highest point in the San Juans, Mt Constitution. The campground offers private sites by the lake, in the forest, closer to the mountain, and even glamping sites. Each site comes with a canvas tent, queen size bed, dresser, big chairs to sit by the firepit with basic amenities - coffee - water etc provided. The campground is within short walking distance of Cascade Lake, where boat rentals and a snack shop are nearby. There are also nearby hamlets to explore and a grocery store right as you exit the ferry. There are bathrooms/showers and garbage, and the day use site at the north end of the lake is nice with boat rentals during the summer. Cell service is minimal at best in the campground, but you can drive a few miles for reception. This is a great campground for a variety of activities, including swimming, kayaking, fishing, boating, hiking, beach combing, whale watching, and star gazing.
