American Heritage Campground
About the Campground
GenieSummary
This campground is a private RV park located in a heavily wooded area, providing a rustic feel and a secluded atmosphere. It is situated just off of I-5, with a Pilot gas station and McDonalds next to the on-ramp and an Ace Hardware store nearby. The individual sites are set among towering Douglas Firs, with plenty of space between them. Each site has 30 amp power, but no cable TV or wireless internet. Broadcast channels are available, however. The roads are one-lane and narrow, with asphalt in good condition and mature trees to watch out for. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the campground offers a book library, a camp store, and a playground. There is a large grassy field in the back for kids to play and easy satellite access. During the regular season, there are family activities and two goats, Bonnie and Clyde, in a fenced area on the property. Unfortunately, the pool was closed when we visited. This campground is a great choice for those looking to tour the lower part of the state, such as Mt. Rainier and St. Helens, and Seattle.
