GenieSummary

Potholes State Park is a great campground for those looking for a peaceful and well-maintained spot to stay. The sites are not cramped and there is plenty of green grass and shade trees. The campground is easy to access from Rt 90E and is only a 30 minute drive away from the local fruit farms. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the grounds are immaculately maintained. There is a small general store just outside the park that has a gas station and most little things you may need. The park has a wagon wheel layout, with sunny overhead sites, but shade trees in grassy areas. There is a boat launch, but no real beach with swimming. The sites are clean, level and have a nice fire pit and picnic bench. The restrooms and showers are typical Washington State Park, very clean, but tired and worn. There is no pull-through sites, but the “pods” are big enough to turn around in.

From The Campground

Potholes State Park offers a variety of camping options, including standard campsites, group camps, and cabins. The standard campsites offer electrical and water hookups, while the group camps have ADA accessible porta potties and are located about 50 feet from the parking area. The five cabins in the primitive camp area are within a short walk of the Potholes Reservoir and have AC outlets, ceiling fans, and heating/air conditioning units. Pets are allowed in cabin 62 with a $15 (plus tax) pet fee per night. Restrooms are nearby in the park, but the cabins have no plumbing and indoor cooking is prohibited. The park was formed as a result of two major events, one natural and one man-made, and offers a variety of recreational activities.
