Salt Creek Recreation Area is a stunning campground located on the banks of the Strait of San Juan de Fuca in Port Angeles, Washington. It offers incredible views of the water, rocky headlands, beautiful coves, a long beach, and hiking trails. Campers can choose from a variety of sites, including reservable, first come first serve, back in, pull through, partial hookup, and dry camping. Many of the sites overlook the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the mountains, and some even offer a view of Victoria, BC. The park also provides access to Tongue Point and Striped Peak, and the nearby beach and tide pools can be explored at low tide. There are also a playground, horse shoe pits, basketball court, and a huge grass field. The bathrooms and showers are clean, and the showers cost $.25 for two minutes. Wildlife sightings are common, with whales, dolphins, otters, bald eagles, and raccoons all present in the area. The park is perfect for families, hikers, kayakers, surfers, and those who love to play games such as volleyball and basketball. Its also close to Port Angeles and the Olympic National Park Visitor Center.
