GenieSummary

Flowing Lake is a secluded county park located off Highway 2, 15 miles from I-5. It is a peaceful and inviting campground with spacious handicap spots, lots of light, and close proximity to the bathroom facilities. The park has a lake with docks for fishing, walking trails, picnic tables, a playground for children, and a nature trail. The interior roads are very tight and winding, and not recommended for motor homes over 36 and over 12 tall. There are a lot of low hanging limbs which can rub the upper part of motor homes. The circuit breaker is old and may need to be cycled several times to get it to work. The campground is very clean and quiet, with tall evergreens and moderately dense ferns to muffle noise and conceal views. There is no water in the park this time of the year, so visitors should fill up their fresh water tank before arriving. Verizon signal is strong and steady. Hot showers are available (coin operated), but restrooms can be muddy from rainy days and/or lake swimmers. The best kept secret is to reserve for the 4th of July and get a front-row seat on the beach for a spectacular fireworks show. The driveway to the sites is very tight, and motor homes over 29 feet and crew cab trucks may not fit in many spaces. Satellite TV is not available due to the thick trees, and the layout of the park is a little strange with no place to turn around. The hosts are very nice and accommodating.

From The Campground

Flowing Lake Regional Park, also known as Leckie's Beach, is an immensely popular park that offers a variety of recreational activities. The day-use area provides access to the beach and amenities which include a boat launch, fishing dock, playground, picnic tables, picnic shelters and an amphitheater. For those that wish to stay a little longer, the park includes a campground with a mix of cabins and campsites and a heated restroom with showers. A nature trail encompasses a portion of the campground for those seeking a little solitude.
