What others are saying about this campground
The campground is located on the Columbia River, near the historic town of North Bonneville, and is a great base for exploring the Columbia River Gorge. With so much to do and see, Beacon Rock Campground is the perfect place to start your Columbia River Gorge adventure. Beacon Rock Campground is a great place to explore the Columbia River Gorge and experience all the beauty it has to offer. Located along the Columbia River, the campground has 28 sites for camping, two day-use areas with built-in kitchen set-ups, bathrooms, and picnic tables, as well as two equestrian sites with two spaces large enough for horse trailers. The campground is close to Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington and is very popular and busy. Sites vary greatly, and are first-come, first-serve, so it helps to come early to grab a spot. In addition to the campground, there are two trails to explore, Beacon Rock and Hamilton Mountain, both of which offer spectacular views of the Columbia River. There is also a boat launch with electrical hookups, playground and picnic area. While the campground is located between State Route 14 and train tracks, there is significant noise at all times. However, with all the beauty and activities the park has to offer, it is worth the noise.

From The Campground
Beacon Rock State Park is a public marina and campground located in Skamania, WA. The park offers boat moorage, boat pumpout, and camping facilities. The main campground has 28 standard campsites, while the Woodard Creek Campground has five full-hookup campsites. There are also two standard equestrian campsites. The park has a group camp that accommodates 200 guests. Facilities include one kitchen shelter with power and one picnic shelter. There are two Adirondack (three-sided) sleeping shelters and two vault toilets. Showers are available in the main campground and moorage area. The park has a rich history, with Beacon Rock being the core of a young volcano that erupted around 57,000 years ago. Native Americans knew that it marked the last of the rapids on the Columbia River and the beginning of tidal influence from the Pacific Ocean, 150 miles away. Lewis and Clark camped at Beacon Rock in November 1805 on their journey to the Pacific and also on their return trip in 1806. They noted the rock in their journal and gave it its present name.
