From The Campground

Lewis and Clark State Park is a 616-acre camping park in a stand of old-growth forest. The park features 5 miles of hiking trails and 8 miles of multi-use trails open to horses. The park provides an all-American camping experience, with fire circles, an amphitheater and horseshoe pits. Your horse can even camp with you at one of the park's equestrian campsites. Boundless enjoyment awaits children and families, on lawns that double as playing fields, on miles of trails amidst lush ferns, gnarled snags, nurse logs and in cathedral-like thickets of giant trees. Lewis and Clark State Park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s, during the Great Depression, and examples of the characteristic CCC architecture can be found throughout the park.
