Sunset Falls Campground in Yacolt, WA is a secluded getaway on the banks of the East Fork of the Lewis River. The drive to the campsite is beautiful with endless recreation opportunities nearby, including world-class paddling on the Lewis River and numerous hiking trails and parks. The campsites have pull-through parking for vehicles up to 35 feet or three vehicles and feature fire rings, picnic tables, and small tent pads. The campground is forested with some less wooded sites that allow for charging solar-powered systems even on cloudy days. The vault toilets need some maintenance but are clean enough to use. The water is clean and good-tasting, and the campground hosts are friendly and efficient. This is the perfect spot for primitive campers who dont mind being 30 minutes away from any services or cell service. Its best for those who love small, quiet campgrounds with a lot of privacy and a chance to reconnect with nature.

From The Campground

Sunset Falls Campground and Day Use is a year-round campground located on the western edge of Gifford Pinchot National Forest, on the Lewis River. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of the river and a waterfall with other recreation opportunities within a short hike on Sunset falls Trail #174. The campground road and trail path to the falls are paved and shaded by large evergreen trees. There are several hiking trails in the vicinity, including the Silver Star Trail which offers excellent views. The area is also popular with kayakers that visit the East Fork Lewis River. Fishing is available at nearby Zigzag Lake or Canyon Creek. The East Fork Lewis is open to angling below Horseshoe Falls. There are day use picnic spots and leashed pets are allowed.
