The Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine and Youth Museum in Beckley, WV is a 17-site RV campground located adjacent to the Exhibition Coal Mine. The campground is well maintained with a firepit, picnic table, trash cans by each site and fairly level ground. The campground is quiet and peaceful with lots of walking trails throughout the area. It is located on a nice city walking trail and well treed, providing great shade. Many of the sites are fairly narrow but some are longer and more shaded from the afternoon sun. The area is up a hill and the signage going into the campground was poor but the staff was helpful. The parking lot is not big rig friendly, be careful. Some sites have a 10% grade and a sharp turn to get down which could be difficult for large rigs, beware. Despite some navigational challenges, the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine and Youth Museum is a pleasant surprise for a peaceful getaway.
