Kumbrabow State Forest is a beautiful and secluded campground located in the middle of the Allegheny Highlands. Access is by a 6 mile dirt/rock road, so 4 wheel drive and a good sense of direction are necessary. Campsites are located along the creek, and each has a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern holder. There are no cell coverage or Wi-Fi, but there is a bathhouse two miles away. There are many trails of varying levels for hiking and snowshoeing, and the campground is a great place to unplug and unwind. During the late spring, the rhododendrons are in bloom, and in the fall, the foliage is beautiful. The cabins provide a unique experience with gas lights, gas refrigerator, fully-equipped kitchen, wood fireplace, and outside grill and firepit.
