Lake Emily Campground is a small county park in Portage County, Wisconsin, located close to Stevens Point, Amherst Junction and Amherst. The campground is well maintained and very clean, with large sites, many of which are shaded in the woods, some open and sunny. There is a park ranger and check-in station, and the campsites have fire rings and tables, plus electric and water hook-ups. There is a swimming area, playground, boat landing, free showers, and flush and pit toilets. The campground is located near a busy freight train rail line and a four lane highway, so expect noise at night. There is a nice beach area to swim in, however it is a bit of a walking distance from the park. The lake water is nice and clear, and there is a big area for the kids to play baseball/basketball. Camping is $14 per night and the park is not usually full.

From The Campground

Lake Emily Park is a 143-acre park managed by the Portage County Parks Department in Wisconsin. The park is adjacent to the 96-acre Lake Emily, which provides easy access for fishermen, boaters, water skiers, and swimmers. The park features a large picnic area, two picnic lodges, showers, boat ramp, trailer dump station, playground equipment, nature trail, swimming beach, and baseball field. The campground is open from May 1st to October 31st and offers electrical hookups, potable water tank fill-ups, and two handicapped sites that can be reserved. The park also offers lodge rentals and recreational activities such as beach access, boating, fishing, horseshoe pits, nature trails, playground equipment, volleyball courts, and water skiing.
