Prentice Park in Ashland, WI is a modern campground located just off the main drag and a short hike away from the beaches of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands. The campground offers a paved trail to the beach and around the wetlands, as well as an artesian well in the day use area with clean and tasty water. The campground host will provide the code for the shower rooms, and the campground also offers a “dry bag” for a bar of soap, which is a great alternative to using shower gels or hotel soaps. The campground is close to town, where visitors can see the murals painted on a dozen or so buildings depicting the town’s history and people. The campground offers electricity and water, but visitors must drive to the other side of town to dump. Unfortunately, there is no wi-fi available at the campground, so visitors will need to plan trips to McDonalds if they need wi-fi.
