What others are saying about this campground

This campground is a great spot for those looking for a quiet, private getaway. It is not a campground that transients happen to be passing by, or that has a tourist attraction that draws travelers from far reaches. The sites are on the far edge of the property on an open piece of land next to a corn field, and are not super exposed, so you do get some privacy. There is a large field to accommodate campers, and although there are no hook ups for the over night spots, there is water and electric available for pull-through sites. There is also a small lake with a beach area, water toys, paddleboats, and a boat ramp. On the weekends, many people ride ATVs or golf carts around the campground. There are not a lot of activities scheduled, but there is an outdoor movie, hay ride, and a DJ dance. There is also a nice Snack Shack next to the beach with reasonable rental rates. The bathrooms can be overwhelmed at the end of the weekend due to the group size, but are otherwise maintained.

Lake Joy is a family owned and managed campground that has been a favorite summer getaway for more than 45 years. Our goal is to provide a clean, relaxing, friendly environment for families and friends to enjoy time together. We pride ourselves on attention to our campers, the cleanliness of our campground, the care of our grounds and our modern shower facilities. We are also proud of our private, spring fed lake which has swimming, boating and some of the best fishing in this part of the state.
