What others are saying about this campground
Yellowstone Lake State Park is a large state park located halfway between Mineral Point and New Glarus. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities for visitors. One of the main attractions is the large lake with three boat launches, a main one with a motor ramp, a canoe launch near the marshy end, and a fishing pier. Visitors can rent boats from a nearby facility or bring their own. There are no boat-in or lake accessible campsites, but the campground is up a long hill across from the main launch and beach area. The sites are more secluded from each other than in most parks, which is a great feature. Some sites are bi-level, so check the photos carefully when reserving. The park has very nice walk-in sites, but no carts are provided. The facilities are clean, but theres only one building with running water and showers. The water throughout has a mild iron taste. Additionally, theres a playground located in a picnic area near the canoe launch and a concession stand at the east end of the lake with limited hours. Beyond that is a local saloon, the closest option for dining out. The park also has hiking trails that are accessible from the campground and a walking trail around the lake.
