The Fairgrounds Campground is a great place to stay for a couple of nights. It offers 16 full hookup sites with 50-amp service, and 16 electric only sites, all on grass. The sites are not very level, but with angle parking, it is easy to level. The facilities are farm-style, with restrooms and showers available. It is not available during events, so check the Fairgrounds calendar before booking. The campground is situated amidst the buildings and tents, making for an interesting camping experience. Across the street is Irvine Park, a 300-acre nature park with a creek running through it, a zoo, a playground, a swimming area, and many hiking/walking trails. There are also pubs and saloons nearby. The campground manager is friendly and helpful, and the campground offers a picnic table built by the high school shop class. The fee is $20 a night for full hookups, and it can be difficult to find due to lack of signage.
