Goose Island is a picturesque and spacious campground, perfect for boating, fishing, and camping, located right on the backwaters of the Mississippi River. With its cozy and well-maintained showers, bathrooms and other amenities, camp rangers pay excellent attention to visitors needs during their stay. Guests rave about the stunning views of the river, especially during sunrise and sunset, even though some of the sites are close together near the entrance. As you venture deeper into the park, the sites become more spread out. The campsite offers a dump station, laundry, and a small store, but there is little information provided at check-in. Some guests noted that a few of the long-term rented sites seemed cluttered, but this was not uniform throughout the campground. Though not all sites feature sewer connections, the available water and electric outlets are well-placed and accessible. Internet access is free, and there are two dump stations available, one in the middle and one in the back. Visitors are cautioned that larger vehicles may find it difficult to reach the back dump station. Additionally, some camping spots are known to be prone to flooding during extended rain events. Nevertheless, guests unanimously praise the parks natural beauty, well-maintained facilities, and the friendly campground staff who are happy to help make every stay unforgettable.

La Crosse County Campgrounds are located in Goose Island Park and Veterans Memorial Park. The campgrounds are operated and maintained by the Facilities Department of La Crosse County. The campgrounds offer a quality experience in the outdoors with opportunities for camping, hiking, fishing, and more. The Facilities Department is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and cleaning of the campgrounds, as well as other County properties. The department also supervises capital improvements, including new construction to the County's facilities.
