GenieSummary

Cox Hollow in Governor Dodge State Park is a great family campground with lots of amenities, including showers. The campsites are spacious, with plenty of greenery, and many sites offer privacy. The lakes are lovely for kayaking and offer great hiking trails, such as the Lost Canyon Trail, which has stunning bluffs and a small waterfall. The park tends to be busy during holidays and the beaches can be crowded. However, a great treat is Bobs Bitchin BBQ in Dodgeville. The road to the campground is hilly but the scenery is worth it. While the vibe may not be for everyone and there may be some issues with enforcing rules, it can still be a great spot to camp and explore.

From The Campground

Governor Dodge State Park is one of the state's largest parks, with over 5,000 acres of steep hills, bluffs and deep valleys plus two lakes and a waterfall. Located in Wisconsin's scenic driftless area, Governor Dodge offers camping, picnicking, hiking, canoeing, biking, hunting, fishing, off-road biking, cross-country skiing and horseback riding opportunities.
