Governor Dodge State Park is a wonderful place to camp, offering a variety of activities for the whole family. The campground features 270 large, shaded sites, some of which are suitable for RVs, and others for tents. There are also backpacking sites located 1/2- 1 mile from the parking lot. The campground is dog friendly and has clean bathrooms and showers. There are two large lakes for canoeing, paddle boating, and fishing, as well as trails for hiking, biking, and exploring. Nearby attractions include House on the Rock and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin home and studio. The Jumping Jupiter General Store is a great place to pick up any camping supplies you may need. The campground is beautiful and secluded, with lush vegetation and panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and forests. There is a dump station with potable water, and many of the sites have electric hookups. Despite the lack of water hookups, the campground is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful.
