From The Campground
Anvil Lake Campground is a beautiful camping destination located in the Eagle River area of Wisconsin. The campground offers a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy, including fishing, hiking, nature viewing, picnicking, water activities, and winter sports. The Anvil Trail system is adjacent to the campground and connects with the Nicolet North Trail system, the larger Hidden Lake Trail System, and to the Franklin Lake and Luna-White Deer Campground via a connector trail. The campground is also a designated watchable wildlife area, especially for woodland warblers. Anvil Lake has extremely clear water with great fishing for walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch, and panfish. The recreation area features picnic tables nestled under the trees and a historic log picnic pavilion with picnic tables that can accommodate larger groups. The swim beach at Anvil Lake is great for swimming. The campground offers back-in sites and pull-through tent sites on a first-come basis. The pavement type of parking is asphalt.
