What others are saying about this campground
Merrill State Park is a beautiful campground located in the Wisconsin River Valley, surrounded by tall trees and vibrant fall colors. The park is perfect for camping, hiking, boating, and cross country skiing. Campsites are wooded and offer plenty of shade, with electric and water pumps available. There are two shower buildings, both of which are cleaned twice daily, as well as non-flush toilets located between the two sites. The roads are narrow with low hanging limbs, so large rigs may have difficulty backing in. Satellite signal is practically impossible due to the heavy forest cover. The park also offers plenty of opportunities to fish in the Wisconsin River or Alexander Lake, with a license. The lake is also great for swimming, boating, and other water sports. Unfortunately, the mosquitos can be quite bad due to the standing water, but they die down during the day. There are also plenty of hiking trails, but be aware of the biting deer flies as the sun goes down. Overall, Merrill State Park is a great park and campground that is nicely secluded and small, and is a great place to stay for a weekend or even a week.
