From The Campground

Big Rapids Park is a 33-acre campground located on the Big Eau Pleine River in west central Marathon County. The river is dammed, providing swimming and fishing opportunities. The lower area has picnic tables, a swim beach, picnic area, and vault restrooms. The upper area has playground equipment, water pump, open shelter, grills, picnic tables, horseshoe pits, dumpster, paved path, and beach. Renters can request to have the gate opened to unload and load up closer to the building, but there is no parking past the gate. The beach has 100 parking spaces (54 beach/46 other), 2 vault restrooms, open grassy area, 3 open shelters, BBQ shelter, 2 water pumps, horseshoe pits, playground equipment, scattered tables & grills. The boat landing lot has 39 parking spots (14 cars & trailers/25 cars), dumpster, recycling station, paved path.
