This campground is located down a quiet paved road just 2 miles outside of town. It is surrounded by a wooded area, providing plenty of shade, and a feeling of seclusion. The manager and staff are friendly, however the manager has chosen the wrong career path, as evidenced by the electrical issues experienced during a hot summer and the managers unhelpful response. There is a wildlife school across the road with free trails to walk, as well as a private boat launch and small beach on Lake Thompson. The roads in the campground are a bit narrow, so be careful with large rigs. Wood must be bought at the store, but pay attention to the hours as they close early. There is also a sign forbidding just about everything you can think of posted everywhere at this park. If you want to use your air conditioning, it is an additional $3 a day. Fishing is ok, but overall this is not the best campground and it is advised to go elsewhere.
