High Cliff State Park is a beautiful park located close to both Appleton and Green Bay. The park sits on the Niagara Escarpment and offers great camping experiences. While the beach is not the greatest for swimming, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy such as hiking and low elevation rock climbing. The park offers various hiking trails, varying in elevation, including cliff views of Lake Winnebago, historic burial mounds, preserved lime kilns, and equine trails. There are plenty of amenities such as picnic areas, boating opportunities, and showers. The park is family-friendly and pet-friendly. The tent sites may be on the smaller side, but many of them are spacious. Wildlife such as raccoons can be a problem if food is left out. Overall, High Cliff State Park is a great spot near the Fox Valley to enjoy a day hike or a camping trip.

From The Campground
High Cliff State Park is a beautiful recreational area located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin's largest lake. The park is named after the limestone cliff of the Niagara Escarpment and features a magnificent 12-foot statue of Winnebago Indian Chief Red Bird, standing high on a huge granite rock, overlooking the lake. The park offers camping, a marina, and picnic areas and shelters.
