What others are saying about this campground
Rock Island State Park is a unique and secluded camping destination located off the coast of Wisconsin. The only way to get to the island is by taking a ferry, and no cars or bikes are allowed. Campers can choose from 40 private campsites, located in wooded or sandy areas, and all are hike-in only. There are no showers, but flush toilets and water are available at the ferry dock. The island is great for exploration, with a lighthouse tour, neat hiking trails (ranging from easy to moderate), and a boathouse with interesting history. Kids will love flying kites and playing soccer in the big mowed field, and star-gazing is a must with the lack of light pollution. The water is cold, but swimming is still a possibility on the beach. It’s a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the beauty of nature.
