The campground has 3 sections, one is reservations only, one is walk up with electric, and one is dry camping. The sites are all large, and have plenty of trees, so you can find some shade. The sites have picnic tables and fire rings, and the bathrooms are a short walk away. The campground is on the west side of the Buffalo Bill Reservoir in between the surrounding mountains, so it is extremely windy here. The views of the reservoir and the surrounding mountains are beautiful, and the sunsets are spectacular. The campground also has a dump station and potable water, and the electric hookups are 50 amp. There is also a playground for the kids and a visitor center with information about the area. This is a great place to stay if you want to explore the area and take in the stunning views.

Buffalo Bill State Park is a year-round camping and day-use park located in Cody, Wyoming. The park was established in 1957 and provides recreational areas and facilities along the original shoreline of Buffalo Bill Reservoir. The reservoir was created in 1910 with the completion of the highest dam in the world at the time, which was built by Colonel William F. Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, boating, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Visitors can also attend educational presentations on local wildlife and fisheries. The park has undergone redevelopment in recent years, including raising the crest of the dam by 25 feet and increasing the reservoir storage capacity.
