Wapiti Campground is a Forest Service campground located in Wapiti, Wyoming, halfway between Cody and Yellowstone National Park. It offers a scenic drive to the East entrance of Yellowstone, with beautiful views of the mountains and the Shoshone River. The campground is small, with nine gravel pull-through sites and a pet area on the west and south sides. It has full hookups, Wi-Fi, and clean bathrooms and showers. There is a concession stand by the office with reasonable prices, but no cable or air TV channels. The owner is strict and short with customers, but the staff is friendly and helpful. The campground is close to a gas station and Walmart, and a mile away from a WY Anglers Access to the Shoshone River. It is a great location for lodging, but lacks amenities such as a pool or places to hang or store ones toothbrush and clothes.
