What others are saying about this campground
Located a couple of miles off Interstate 80 east of Laramie, Rob Roy Campground is a hidden gem for those seeking a rustic camping experience. The campsites are situated among aspens and provide plenty of privacy. The fire rings and picnic tables at each site are perfect for outdoor cooking and gatherings. Some sites are pull-through, and while not all are perfectly level, there are flat areas for trailers and tents. The campground is near the Medicine Bow Rail Trail, which offers excellent mountain biking opportunities for all ages. At $10 a night, Rob Roy Campground is an affordable place to stay. There are vault toilets and a hand pump for water, but no dump stations or hose connections. The roads to the campground are tight, and some channels have been cut through by water, so big rigs might have difficulty getting to some sites. On the positive side, the campground offers peace and quiet and excellent views of the stars. It is close to a lot of national forest trails, and Curt Gowdy State Park, a fantastic fishing and hiking locale, is only about 30 minutes away. Additionally, the campground has good AT&T signal. Overall, Rob Roy Campground is an excellent option for a rustic camping adventure for those exploring Laramie, Cheyenne, and the surrounding mountain area.
