What others are saying about this campground
Vedauwoo Campground is a beautiful and secluded campground located in the Medicine Bow National Forest, 20 miles west of I-25 and just off I-80. It offers 28 first-come, first-serve sites, each with a fire pit, picnic table, and BBQ grill. There is a welcome area with information on the surrounding hiking and bouldering opportunities, with maps included. This area has complex networks of dirt roads, allowing visitors to explore more and really feel like they’re in the backcountry. The rock formations and trails provide stunning views and plenty of opportunities for hiking, climbing, repelling, and mountain biking. The nearby Curt Gowdy State Park offers a broad network of wonderfully maintained mountain bike and hiking trails, as well as motorized and non motorized water sports. Visitors should be aware that due to the nearby wildfires, a fire ban may be in effect. Additionally, the campground is close enough to the highway to be considered a convenient overnight stop, and visitors may hear highway noise.
