Fremont Lake in Pinedale, WY is a great campground with easy to access, level parking, and nicely shaded campsites. Some of the campsites are narrow, which may be challenging for large RVs or fifth wheels to maneuver. Vault toilets are clean, but there is no water or dumpster available. The campground is small with only 17 sites, half of which can be reserved. The rest are first-come, first-served. A notice is posted that rates may be raised from $7 to $12. There is no camp host on site, but the camp host who comes to visit is informative. The sites are nestled into dense willow-aspen shrubs, and only a few have direct paths to the lake. Bugs can be a problem at times. The road to the campground is narrow and rocky and may be challenging for large vehicles or trailers. Cell service is not available. There is a private lodge down the access road toward the hiking trailhead. The road to the trailhead is narrow, rocky, and has limited parking, with very limited turn-around space for trailers. Fremont Lake is perfect for decompressing after a long trip, we extended our stay because we loved it so much! There are many great spots along the lake with some campsites offering great views of the mountains. The campsite is perfect for kayaking or swimming, and there are plenty of nearby hikes to explore. The nearby town of Pinedale has everything you need for supplies.
