What others are saying about this campground
Boysen State Park in Shoshoni, WY is an awesome lake that is easily accessible. The campground is below the dam overlooking the Wind River, with vault toilets and playgrounds. The sites are all large enough to accommodate RVs, with spacious areas for tents situated on the ledge just above the water. The lake itself is accessed about a half mile down the road, with clear water and a beautiful backdrop, perfect for skiing or just dropping anchor and chilling. Lots of islands to play on in this lake. This campground is reasonably priced but not the cheapest state park at $32.25. Despite this, the location makes it worth it. Watch out for the sprinklers run every day, and tent campers should look carefully for the spigots. Boysen State Park has lots of campsites, especially Upper Wind River campsite, which is great for tent campers who dont have a boat. Overall, Boysen State Park is a great place to visit, with clean toilets and a friendly campground host. Its perfect for relaxing or for enjoying outdoor activities like swimming and exploring the nearby town of Thermopolis. The park can be quite crowded during peak season, but if you visit during off-peak periods, youll find it peaceful with few campers around.

From The Campground

Boysen State Park is a beautiful park located in Wyoming. The park is named after Asmus Boysen, who built a dam and power plant at the site in the early 1900s. The existing dam was completed in 1951 and the park became a state park in 1956. The park offers camping, boating, and fishing, with 19,560 acres of water and 76 miles of shoreline. However, high water levels can cause flooding in some areas, and visitors are advised to use caution. The park also offers a naturalist program and hosts special events throughout the year.
