What others are saying about this campground
Slough Creek Campground is a tranquil and rustic campground located in the Northern section of Yellowstone National Park, near the entrance of the Lamar Valley. It is the perfect spot for those looking for a peaceful, out-of-the-way camping experience, with stunning views and incredible wildlife. The campground has 16 sites, all with picnic tables and metal fire rings, and is located directly on Slough Creek. There is also a hand pump well for drinking water. Vault toilets are available and kept very clean by the park service. The campground is bear territory, so visitors must be sure to lock up food items in their car or in one of the bear proof lockers located throughout the campground. The 2.5 mile gravel road leading to the campground can be difficult to navigate in wet weather, so visitors should plan ahead. The campground is rather inexpensive and is a great spot for fishing, wildlife viewing, and star gazing. The camp host is very friendly and helpful. Sites fill up quickly, so visitors should plan to arrive early in the morning to get a spot. Verizon and ATT both have good cell signals in the area.
