What others are saying about this campground
Roland Cooper State Park is a beautiful, peaceful campground located along the Alabama River. It is a small state park with full hookups, and the sites are level and decently spread out. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are good. The park is great for fishing and hunting activities, and there is a deer cleaning station near the entrance. The bathrooms and showers are clean, and there is a small camp store in the office. The park is also great for hammock camping, and the sunsets are amazing. Cell service is good (Verizon) and there are two walking trails. Unfortunately, T-Mobile does not work in the park. Overall, Roland Cooper State Park is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy the outdoors.

The park offers a variety of overnight accommodations including five furnished two-bedroom cabins and 47 improved campsites with picnic tables, grills, water, 30-amp electrical and sewer hook ups. Tent camping is available on 13 primitive sites as well. The fishing at Roland Cooper is excellent, with ample populations of game fish in the lake. The park also provides boat launching facilities and hosts fishing tournaments throughout the year. Access to the Alabama River and the abundant forested surroundings make Roland Cooper State Park a birder’s paradise. Bald eagles and osprey are present most of the year.
