Lake Lurleen State Park in Coker, AL, is a beautiful and peaceful park. The park has well-maintained hiking trails that offer stunning views of the lake. Although some sites have an unlevel terrain, the shaded sites are spacious and have great views of the lake. Many sites are located along the water on elevated platforms, and you walk down stairs to get to picnic tables or grills. Each of the four loops has bathrooms nearby. However, the park struggles with signage and there have been issues with wasp nests near the bathrooms, as well as a lack of phone service and low-quality TV reception. The staff is friendly and helpful when needed. Overall, the parks minimal amenities might not appeal to everyone, but the views and peaceful ambiance give the park its charm.
