What others are saying about this campground
This campground is a hidden gem located in a pleasant, quiet, open field and rural area just north of Elkmont, Alabama, on Veto Road just south of the Tennessee line. It is easily accessible from I-65 and GPS devices can locate the entrance perfectly. The campground offers long and spacious sites with good electricity and water pressure. Each site has a picnic table with a night light on top of each electrical box for added convenience. The bath house is a private single commode combined with a curtained shower and bench, unfinished concrete floor, cobwebs on the light fixtures, a bit rustic. The owners are very attentive to details and take a lot of pride in this little gem. They are working hard to add more sights and amenities. The campground also offers a bicycle rail trail which runs for 10.2 miles from Athens through Elkmont to Veto at the Tennessee line and a rails-to-trails walking and bike path which runs along the park. There is also a neat trail that takes you to a covered bridge by the creek, but it had been pretty rainy and so we didnt explore that. The campground is family-friendly and perfect for those looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway. It even offers Wi-Fi and one TV station (CW).
