The clubhouse is beautiful and offers various activities throughout the week, including live music. The facilities, including the laundry room and bathrooms, are clean and well-maintained. The park also has a small gym and a pool. The Wi-Fi is good, and satellite signal is strong. The staff is friendly, and the community is welcoming. Its a nice place to stay, and we would highly recommend it.

Right on the edge of a white sand creek bank, Sugar Sands Campground and Canoeing Outpost is one of those places where you show up and instantly feel like you’ve found summer. The water’s clear, the trees offer plenty of shade, and whether you’re in an RV or pitching a tent, the setting just does a lot of the work for you. Families hang out on the sandbar, kids splash and paddle in the creek, and there’s always something happening—maybe a round of horseshoes or a laid-back hike through the woods. The on-site snow cone stand and commissary keep the good vibes going, and there’s room here for groups too, whether it’s scouts, church outings, or just a bunch of friends camping together. When you’re ready to explore, you’ve got options. Shepard State Park is nearby for shaded trails and quiet picnic spots. The Pascagoula River Audubon Center offers boardwalks, nature exhibits, and birdwatching close to town. You can paddle a stretch of the scenic Pascagoula River, or make a beach day out of it at Gulf Islands National Seashore. And for a taste of local flavor, check out the Vancleave Farmer’s Market for fresh produce and small-town charm. Come spend a few days where the water’s cool, the sand is soft, and the pace is just right. Sugar Sands is ready when you are.
