It is situated in a glen of pine trees, with Shoal Creek running right past the campground, providing a pleasant white noise at night. The campground has few amenities, with only vault toilets and trash cans, but the sites are spaced out enough to provide privacy. The Pinhoti Trail runs straight through the campground, providing hiking opportunities. The campground is open with little underbrush, and the sites are flat and have picnic tables, fire rings, and tent pads. The campground is incredibly peaceful and quiet, even when it is full. Unfortunately, none of the water faucets are working, so there is no potable water. The road in is 8 miles of unpaved, backcountry road with varying inclines, so those without a truck should be aware. There is no electricity or cell service, but for $3/night, it is a great spot for a weekend getaway.
