The park offers 69 water and electric sites, and 21 full hook-up sites which are gravel and level. There are two dump stations for sites without sewer hook-up. Each site includes a fire pit and picnic table and is surrounded by bushes and large trees, allowing for privacy. The campground is very quiet both day and night. There are two 24-hour bath houses with showers and coin laundry. The area has many hiking trails nearby, offering great views of the scenery. The park is conveniently located near Downtown Huntsville. Monte Sano State Park is one of the few state parks that offer full hook-ups, including sewer. The park is shaded and has very spacious lots. This is a very well-kept and clean park, and the trails are all very scenic no matter which trail you take.

Monte Sano State Park is located near Huntsville in northeast Alabama. In Spanish, Monte Sano means “Mountain of Health.” In the late 1800s, visitors from across the United States came for “the season” to experience and enjoy Monte Sano’s fresh air, spectacular views and mineral springs. The park offers a serene mountain setting that is ideal for a variety of group functions including business meetings, weddings and family reunions. Accommodations include 14 rustic cabins, 89 improved campsites, a primitive campground, and a camp store. The park features 20 miles of hiking trails and 14 miles of biking trails, with native azaleas blooming in the spring. Area attractions include the Huntsville Botanical Gardens, The U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Burritt on the Mountain, Early Works Family of Museums, and Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment. Cathedral Caverns and Lake Guntersville are within an hour's drive, and Buck’s Pocket is just over an hour away.
