Thunder Canyon Campground RV Park sits at the top of Sand Mountain in a rural and beautiful area of far NE Alabama. With complete peace and quiet, the absence of unnatural sound is one of its best features, except for the daily high-speed flyover of the Red Tail F16 Viper from Montgomery, AL, which is a legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen. There are plenty of good hiking trails and meditative waterfalls nearby. The locals of Ider are very friendly and welcoming. You will find a variety of local restaurants, including Howards. This beautiful campground is like a very nice State Park, with new, sunny and roomy sites, and easy access. All the sites have been improved, and youll find 50/30 amp and municipal water supply. While the laundry is located in the fellowship hall, the grounds are beautiful and rural. This is a members-only campground that was recently established by the RV Odd Squad. You must be a member of the RV Odd Squad to book here, which includes many perks and discounts. The owners are incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the gated entrance ensures added safety. If you value peace and quiet, streams, and waterfalls, this is the place for you. The location is peaceful and rural, so it may take some driving to get there, but its well worth it.

The campground is based on Judeo Christian principles and Boy Scout values, and its purpose is to honor God's love, grace, and redemption through his son Jesus Christ. The campground offers spacious RV sites surrounded by trees and a creek, and the community is second to none. Thunder Canyon Campground was originally established in the 1960s as a staple meeting place for Dekalb County Alabama and surrounding areas. The new ownership has committed to honor the traditions of the past and restore Thunder Canyon to its former glory.
