The park grounds are well manicured, with level asphalt pads, picnic tables, fire rings, and a trash can at each site. There are walking trails, a swimming pool, ball fields, a fishing pond, and acres of beautiful open space. The park also houses a living history museum, a clubhouse, and a pool. The park is mostly filled with short-term campers, but there are also some full-time campers in one section. The campground is big rig friendly, with wide, paved roads and no overhanging trees. The sites are level and have plenty of shade, except for the newer pull-throughs. Utilities work well, and there is good cell coverage and a clear shot of the sky for satellite. The restrooms and showers are older, but they are clean and have plenty of hot water. The camp host is friendly and helpful, and the gate is locked at sunset. This is a great place to relax, explore, and enjoy nature.

Sharon Johnston Park Campground is a 56-site RV/campground park located in Madison County, Alabama. The campground offers both wooded and open areas for campers, with all sites providing an asphalt pad, fire ring, picnic table, and trash receptacle. Rustic sites provide water and electric hookup (50 amp), while modern sites provide water, 50-amp electric, and septic hookup. The campground contains two bathhouses, a laundromat, and three picnic shelters. Wi-Fi is available for campers only. Fishing permits are available for purchase at the host site.
