What others are saying
Joe Wheeler State Park is a beautiful campground located in Ethridge, TN and Mooresville, Alabama. It offers wide spaces between campers, views of the river, a tough but cheap golf course, and sites in the woods or in the open. All sites have been leveled with heavy equipment, framed with 6x6 timbers and filled with pea gravel. Water/Elect/Sewer is all in great shape with a high quality interior road and angled sites for easy backing. There is a Dollar General grocery store in Rogersville and a restaurant at the lodge. The park offers plenty of activities such as swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, golfing, and a disc golf course. The campground has recently been renovated after a tornado and is more big rig friendly. The sites are narrow and one-way, and some have overgrown trees that can make it difficult to back in. The bathrooms are clean and have fire hose water pressure. The park is dog friendly and has walking loops and plenty of space. The cost is $24/night for 50 amp full hookups and there are weekly rates available. There are hosts onsite and the staff is friendly and helpful. The park can get noisy on weekends, so it is best to visit during a quieter time.
