GenieSummary

Steel Creek Campground is a beautiful grass savanna surrounded by 500 foot bluffs, located alongside the Buffalo National River. It is accessible yet hidden away, providing a perfect weekend getaway or Autumn camping trip. The campsites are equipped with a table, fire ring, grill and hook to hang food or trash. During the week it is usually quite empty, but can become overfilled with people on holidays. The trails in the area are stunning and provide access to the river, as well as historic sites and wildlife. The campground is small and often busy, but the views of the bluffs, the sound of the river, and the roaming elk make it a peaceful and tranquil place to stay. Cell service is limited, but the bathrooms are kept clean and often visited by a ranger. With access to the river, plenty of trails, and the ability to book multiple sites for larger groups, Steel Creek Campground is an ideal spot for a camping adventure.
