What others are saying about this campground
Petit Jean State Park is a beautiful and scenic park located in Arkansas. It is situated on top of a forested mountain and offers easy access to great trails, sights, and Mt. Nebo. There are a variety of hiking trails for all levels of ability, including the Cedar Creek Trail, which has a good deal of elevation change but is beautiful. The park also includes a variety of historical landmarks, such as the Petit Jean grave site, which offers breathtaking views of the valley below. There is also a log lodge with a restaurant and a swimming pool for campers. The park has a variety of campsites, including full hookup sites, water and electric sites, and tent sites. The sites are spacious, some with great views of the lake, and include a fire pit, picnic table, and post for hanging a lantern. Some of the sites are pull-throughs, and most are shaded by huge pine trees. There is also an overflow camping area along Lake Bailey for $5. Highway 154 runs through the park, but the speed limit is low, so traffic noise is not too bad. Petit Jean State Park is a great place to visit for its stunning scenery, excellent facilities, and ample hiking opportunities. Be sure to make a point to visit the Petit Jean burial site to take in the incredible views!
