Shores Lake Recreation Area is a beautiful campground located in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests. The campground offers 19 single campsites, 4 multiple unit campsites, and 28 family picnicking units. The pavilion is also fully accessible and is available by reservation. The campground is equipped with restrooms with hot showers, drinking water, and a boat launching ramp. The lake is an 82-acre lake with a fully accessible bathroom facility. Swimming beach is available. Shores Lake Loop Trail is a showcase of upland hardwoods and shortleaf pine groves. The trail treats hikers to views of waterfalls and wildlife. This loop trail connects two popular Forest Service recreation areas: Shores Lake and White Rock Mountain. It offers an excellent weekend hike up a beautiful creek to the spectacular vistas of White Rock Mountain and returns via another creek. A portion of the trail follows the Ozark Highlands Trail. Camping is allowed along the trail. Campgrounds are available at each end of the trail.
