What others are saying
Walnut Creek Campground is a great destination for couples and families looking for a peaceful and secluded getaway. It is situated on both sides of Walnut Creek, with crystal clear and cold water perfect for swimming even in the hottest summer days. The campground offers three loops (primitive, partial, and full hookups) with spacious tent sites, fire rings, picnic tables, and grills. There is also a day use area with a former CCC building converted into a rustic bathhouse. The trails in the area connect to the Ouachita National Scenic Trail, offering impressive views of the surrounding area. Other attractions nearby include Lake Ouachita, Crooked Creek Falls, and Hickory Nut Mountain Rd. The campground is clean and well-maintained, with running water and flush toilets available. The sites are well-shaded and the camp host is helpful and friendly. The nightly rate reflects the Golden Age Passport and the fact that the campers can share a double site.
