What others are saying about this campground
This campground is located off of I-84, about 5 miles away on a narrow, curvy, and hilly road. The 1.5 mile drive in from the main road is narrow and rough, and the inside roads are rough due to recent rains. The sites are roomy and have hook-ups all the way at the rear of the site. The pool was closed at the time of the reviews, but there were a couple of basketball courts. They also have an adults-only swim hour each afternoon. Unfortunately, the staff was not too accommodating and the rules are made up according to what management feels for the moment. The campground is not handicap friendly, as there is no pool access, bathrooms entrances are too narrow, and all buildings have stairs only with no ramps. There is a surprisingly low incidence of barking, despite the fact that it was sold out for the holiday weekend and most campers had at least one dog.

From The Campground
In 1975, Irene and George Hasapes arrived from Chicago to Moosemeadow Camping Resort. They believed that it was a good place to create a family oriented campground with wholesome activities for children and adults. Irene and George also felt it would be a good place to raise their four children – Nikki, Georgianna, Christienna and Jason. Later, three grandchildren, Tyler, Spencer and Jordan, expanded the “Moosemeadow family.” Over the past forty years the entire family has contributed their individual talents towards making Moosemeadow Camping Resort the family oriented campground that Irene and George had envisioned. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a weekend excursion or stay for the season bring your family to Moosemeadow Camping Resort in lovely Willington, Connecticut.
