Plot Knob State Park is a great place for a family camping trip. It offers plenty of activities such as hiking, biking, and fishing, as well as a playground for the kids and an amazing sand bottom swimming pond surrounded by sand beach. The campground is heavily wooded and has 48 gravel and/or grass 30 amp electric sites, a dump station, playscape, 10 miles of hiking trails, and a firewood...

The campground overlooks Lake Catherine, which provides good bass and bluegill fishing. (The lake is restricted to electric and non-motorized boats.) The 13 electric sites also have water hookups and there are two primitive campsites with no hookups. Thorpe Park is also open to public hunting in season.
