The Retreat RV & Campground On Styx River, located in Robertsdale, AL, offers a campsite experience that has not yet lived up to expectations. Although the park is trying to create a nice environment, it is a loosely run operation, and numerous campers have yet to see any management or staff members. Campers had difficulties finding their assigned sites, and lots are not clearly defined. Furthermore, although there are hot showers available for use, the temporary bathroom structures are not sufficiently clean, especially the floors. Additionally, despite offering river access, there are no tubes available for floating. There were also concerns raised regarding standing water after rain. Its worth noting that there are a lot of long-term trailers in the park. However, its recommended that the park make improvements in cleanliness and organization. Customer service was satisfactory after several issues were raised, but some work is needed to make this campground worthy of return visits.
